Combined Discover Maritime and Coastal Archaeology

Complete this combined theory course and the practical Skills Days to achieve your NAS Foundation Qualification. This interactive theory course combines the Discover Maritime Archaeology and our Discover Coastal and Foreshore Archaeology course. No prior knowledge is required. There are 13 modules to work through at your own pace and should take 8-10 hours to complete. Modules are: Introduction to maritime archaeology, Site types, Artefact Investigation, Archaeological Dating Methods, Legislation, Recording and Monitoring, Research and pre-fieldwork, Health and Safety, Geophysics, Fieldwork, Survival Conditions, Post-fieldwork, Archiving and Dissemination. The combined course fee includes one year's NAS membership worth £28 for new members. Course development has been supported by a grant from Historic England.
